Bloodhound Static - Patient Tracking Technology

By

Bloodhound Static

There are some circumstances, for example in hospitals, where it is often essential that the location of personnel is known at all times. In a location such as a hospital it can literally be the difference between life and death, but even in a more commercial or sales environment, or large Head Office building , locating the right person at the right time can be the difference between making a sale or not, or keeping a good customer happy.

It is for these type of environments that the Bloodhound Static System can be a perfect choice for monitoring the movements of staff, because it is specifically designed to work in a static workplace where the bulk of work is carried out in one static location, such as a Head Office or Hospital, but where the workspace is still large enough to warrant a monitoring solution.

In fact, simply making sure that a company’s work hours are being used most effectively more then makes back any investment in a personnel monitoring system like Bloodhound Static.

The way this works is that there are two parts to the Bloodhound Static System:

1. The Receiver Unit

This sits at the center of the area to be monitored and receives the signal and data that are sent from the transmitter cards held by the personnel in a building.

2. The Transmitter Cards

This is a simple card sized electronic device that each person in the building needs to carry with them. It is light and portable and transmits its location and other data to the receiver unit. It is also smart in that it can differentiate between when it is static (such as when someone is working at their desk), and when it is on the move, such as travelling between departments or when someone is going to lunch.

These devices make use of Active RFID technology (Radio Frequency Identification) to carry out these functions, but you can also purchase an optional GSM Modem if you actively need to send information out to the transmitters or receive it back.

One example of where this would be useful is in a hospital if you wanted to check on the availability of a particular Doctor. Using the GSM Modem add-on they would be able to immediately respond as to their availability and also possibly suggest another Doctor who may be more suited to the medical emergency that you are contacting them about.

The Bloodhound Static System offers a lot of flexibility because by adding extra receiver units you can expand the range of space that you can actively monitor, and you will immediately have access to data that was previously only guess work.

Here for example are Ten Pieces of Information that you could work out if you had access to the Bloodhound Static System:

  1. The exact amount of hours someone spends working.
  2. How long a lunch break they usually take.
  3. The typical hours that they clock in and clock off.
  4. What the busiest times are in the office cafeteria (helps you better plan food rotas for example).
  5. Who your hardest working employees really are (at least based on number of hours at their desks).
  6. Which parts of the building are underutilized in terms of number of staff, and which are more heavily populated (helps you to calculate office space requirements and re-distribution of space).
  7. Which staff are not working the hours that they should be.
  8. Which staff are spending too much time in areas of the building that they shouldn’t be (such as the staff gym)
  9. The location of each member of staff so that if they need to be contacted quickly they can be.
  10. The typical work patterns of different employees over time, and comparisons of how people in similar departments are using their time to arrive at performance benchmarks.

The Bloodhound Static System is extremely flexible and offers a great choice for companies with large Head Offices or diversified facilities that want to have clearer monitoring over their personnel.
